Streets, one way or another, dominated the time at the August 12 meeting of the McClusky City Council.
Prices go up, even for schools. The fees and expenses okayed for increases, some not changed for several years are: Hot lunch, $2.25, elementary; $2.50, high school and guest student; $3, staff; adult guest, $3.25; breakfast, everyone, $1.25; milk, $.25.
With a lone volunteer to manage the proposed daycare, Ilene Gross, and a full table of those ready to discuss the issues, two representatives from the ND Child Care Resource and Referral Agency provided information on what it would take to start a daycare in McClusky.
The day started warm and quiet, with the Northland Run/Walk the first event. Winners of Northland Community Health Center’s 5K were (first place) Kevin Franck (18:09); (second place) Kendra Franck (21:05); and (third place) Tyler Franck (22.04).
The McClusky Merchants Association members reviewed the plans for the Midsummer Fest at their June 25 meeting at the Union Grill. All is in process, some a bit less structured than others, but as one member laughingly stated, “Flying by the seat of our pants is what we do best.”
