Specialist Jennifer Joyce, 116th Public Affairs Detachment, Bis-marck, was the speaker for the McClusky American Legion James Roberts Post 124 Memorial Day program. Joyce explained the term “decorate,” in reference to the former term for the observance: “Decoration Day.”
Joining other towns and military branches in celebrating the Memorial Day observance under heavy skies, the Goodrich American Legion again honored both the Denhoff and Goodrich fallen veterans with a service at the respective cemeteries. Lacey Piper played “Taps” for the rituals.
MHS Band members performed “Pomp & Circumstance,” as juniors Jackson Ryan and Katie Erdmann led the march with eight seniors following in black gowns with apple green sashes and teal tassels. Graduates are Cody Crimmins, Taylor Gahner, Gustav Grade, Jacy Hausauer, Alissah Iron Boulder, Brittany Lasher, Lisa Myrice and Alex Ripplinger.
