Titans prevail in Section 6

The Section 6 tournament got underway Wednesday, July 25 in Crosby. By virtue of being the No. 1 seed, the Titans had a first round bye as did No. 2 Watford City. First round games saw host Crosby, No. 4 seed, pound No. 5 Renville County 17-3. No. 3 Makoti got past No. 6 Stanley 9-3.
The Titans opened against Crosby this past Thursday. Any fear of rust after being off since July 10 were laid to rest early. The Titans racked up 10 runs the first inning en route to a 12-9 victory. Cool hand Luke Gehring picked up the win. From the plate, Andrew Haugen was 3-4 with 2 RBI.
In semifinal action this past Friday, the Titans pounded neighbor Makoti 11-2 on the arm of Ramsey Crawford who allowed only seven hits. Austin Lee suffered the loss. The Titans finished strong, scoring seven runs in the final two innings to blow the game open. Haugen continued to have a hot bat for the Titans, going 4-4 with 3 RBI. Matt Landenberger got in on the action as well, going 3-4.
Makoti needed the back door to get another shot at the Titans. They got just that, defeating Watford City 7-2.
