City council explains tree removal
The Parshall City Council tried to placate residents upset about the removal of some trees from boulevards where streets and sidewalks are being replaced.

School Board, teachers approve contract
The Parshall School District and Parshall Education Association completed contract talks and have approved a contract for 2013-14 school year. The changes in the contract include a $500 across the board raise for teachers’ base salary.
Royce Aslakson had reason to be optimistic when he gave his presentation as CEO and General Manager of Reservation Telephone Cooperative at the organization’s annual meeting in Parshall.
Nuxbaaga Celebration is this weekend
Nuxbaaga means people in the Hidatsa language, and people are what is being celebrated at the Nuxbaaga Powwow Grounds six miles south of Parshall this weekend.
Additional pickups stolen in area
Two more pickups were stolen in the area on Saturday, June 15, according to Mountrail County Sheriff Ken Halvorson. He said there is reason to believe that the thefts are related to five pickups that were stolen on May 30 and 31.

Reward offered for info on vehicle thefts
A $2,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of the person or persons responsible for the theft of five pickups over two days at the end of May.
