Sisters give major gift to TAT Museum

The board at the Three Affiliated Tribes Museum could not be happier. Recently, two sisters, originally from the Mandaree Area, Reba and Tillie Walker, donated $900,000 to the Three Tribes Museum.
Board Treasurer, Ramona Two Shields expressed her gratitude about the donation.
“We are so happy about the generosity of these two highly respected women,” she said. “Their contribution will enable us to move toward creating a state of the art museum where we can properly display our artifacts for everyone to enjoy.”
Two Shields says the board is busy gathering ideas to accomplish that purpose. She does know that to upgrade the facility, several important components will be vital.
“We know that the sprinkler system needs to be updated and that climate controlled display cases and expanded storage are a must,” she said.
Two Shields shared the role of the board in the effort.
“We have a good board with representatives from each segment on the reservation. We are discussing ideas we already have and ways to get ideas from others. We will get good ideas and we will see that every dollar is spent in the right way. We want people to be able to enjoy our museum for many years,” Two Shields said.
