Braves can’t tame Divide County

By Jerry W. Kram
The Parshall Braves were outgunned by the undefeated by the Divide County Maroons in nine man football action in Parshall. The Braves tumbled 48-14 against the undefeated Maroons.
“Our effort was better this week,” said Braves Head Coach Mark Grueneich. “We made a lot of mistakes and with our shortage of players we just wore down.”
The Braves had a fumble on their first possession which the Maroons turned into their first score on a 20 yard run by Aiqden Eriksmoen at the nine minute mark. After punting, the Braves did make the Maroons work for their second score, but Ericksmoen took the ball into the end zone with 1:07 left in the first quarter, which ended 14-0.
The Braves offense was frustrated again to start the second quarter. They called a fake punt, but the Maroons were ready and got the ball back on downs. They marched down the field for their third score on another Ericksmoen run. After another Braves punt, the Maroons overcame a penalty that nullified a 60 yard pass play when Ericksmoen scampered 85 yards for another score. The half ended with the Maroons up 40-0.
