Braves continue winning ways

Braves continue winning ways
It’s a great time in the basketball season to start winning games and that’s exactly what the Parshall Braves boys basketball team is doing as they head down the stretch.
The Braves picked up two more important wins this past week over Garrison and Powers Lake with three games remaining in the regular season. The score of the Powers Lake game was closer than the game actually indicated and both Garrison and Parshall turned out for a high-scoring affair that the Braves won going away.
Parshall 62, Powers Lake 59
Braves head coach Derrick Hammonds was pleased after this game even though his team only won by three points. His players provided a balanced scoring attack, which is something that every coach hopes for in every game.
The one-two punch of Cole Hendrickson and Jaren Enockson provided nearly enough offense to beat Powers Lake as both players hit 19 in an impressive effort. Greg Oster also hit double figures with 12. Dakota Deane, Hunter Lafromboise, Brandon Bird Lying Down and Harrison Zacher also scored for the upstart Braves.
For Powers Lake, Bradley Rosenquist provided most of the offensive punch for the Ranchers, while four other players scored to keep the game close.
Even though the Ranchers took an early lead, Parshall came storming back in the second, something they’ve usually waited for until the second half. By halftime it was clear the Braves were on their way despite Powers Lake getting the edge late in the game.
It was a case of too little too late as the Braves hung on for the victory.
