Braves lose a tough opener

Braves lose a tough opener
By William Wilber

Despite a size advantage, the Parshall Braves were outplayed by a more experienced Trenton Tigers team, losing their first game of the season at home Tuesday, 47 to 65.
The game started out on the right foot for the varsity Braves as they got the tip and promptly scored a three pointer, all within eight seconds. The Trenton Tigers soon matched them and slowly built up a lead. Both teams showed a lot of hustle on both offense and defense and at the end of the first quarter, the score was Braves 14 and Tigers 25.
All through the second quarter, both teams pressed each other hard on defense. The Braves were able to score often and Kenny Wells was able to sneak in a nice layup. But, it wasn’t enough to overcome several three pointers and some hot shooting by the Tigers. The score was Braves 26 and Tigers 39 at the half.
