Lady Braves fall to 1-3
By Jerry W. Kram
After a season opening win in Garrison, the Parshall Lady Braves’ Volleyball team have dropped their last three games to Glenburn, Trinity Christian and Lewis and Clark.
The Lady Braves closest match of the three was on their home court in Parshall. The Lady Braves roared out of the gate, dominating the net with height and power. They won those sets 25-13 and 25-15. The Lady Crusaders adjusted and took the third game 25-6 and the fourth 25-16.
"I think part of it was that Trinity figured out what we were doing," said Head Coach Kevin Turner. "They were playing on the net. Then they figured out they couldn’t get past (Cheyenne) Packineau so they started playing further back. That would draw us up, and I couldn’t get them to recover from that."
The Lady Braves lost a few points on net calls and more on mishit balls in the later games. Turner attributes that to the girls not having gone through a five set match yet this season.
"There were some small errors, but small errors add up," Turner said. "Trinity was making those errors to start the game. Then we got tired a little bit."
