Lady Braves take two

By Jerry W. Kram
The Parshall Braves girls basketball team took both games they played this week to boost their season mark to 4-1. The Braves took down the Kenmare Honkers 64-56 Thursday and handed Our Redeemers Christian School their second loss of the year, 72-54.
“It was good to start our home season with a win,” said Braves Head Coach Dusty Olson. “We had six seniors graduate, so the girls are pretty much brand new. So we are ready to see what these girls got, and we aren’t skipping a beat right now.”
The Honkers were undefeated in three games coming into the game against Parshall. The Honkers hadn’t given up more than 31 points in a game. The opening minutes of the game were close and the Honkers had a brief lead midway through the first quarter. However, the Braves began running and the Honkers couldn’t keep up. The Braves finished the quarter with a 12-2 run and wound up with an 18-10 lead.
