Parshall gaining strength

Parshall gaining strength
Woods places 1, 2 in 6 events; Wells a quadruple winner, places in 7 events
In the past couple of weeks, Parshall’s track and field athletes have stepped it up a notch and are beginning to roll as the regional and state track meets are upon us.
In the Charlie Hanneman Memorial, May 3, the boys finished eighth with 37 points while the girls were 10th with 31. Then, in the New Salem Invitational last weekend, the girls finished second with 79 and the boys were also second with 65.
Alexis Woods and Kenny Wells turned in impressive performances in both meets. Both of them placed in six events in the two meets, Wells winning three races and Woods taking one.
In the Charlie Hanneman Memorial, Woods won the 400-meter dash, running it in 1:01. She took second in both the 200 and 100-meter dashes. In that meet, Woods accounted for nearly all of the points, as the only other competitors to score for the Lady Braves were Kiara Packineau and Desiree Wells. Both placed in the 160-meter run, Packineau coming in fifth and Wells eighth.
