Eagles dominate first meet of the year

The New Town Eagles boys cross country team placed first in the “Orr”iginals Invitational meet at the Parkhurst Recreation Area in Jamestown Saturday. The Eagles whipped the top Class A schools in the state along with the Class B competition.
The Eagles won the meet with a low score of 62.  They were followed by Williston with 103, Bismarck Legacy 115, Fargo Davies 132, Grand Forks Red River 144, Fargo North 168, Minot 211, West Fargo 257, Grand Forks Central 259, and West Fargo Sheyenne 332 to round out the top 10. It was a huge meet with 220 runners in the varsity boys division and over 45 teams competing.
Jamestown is the site of the state meet, so most schools in the state came to run in the varsity and JV divisions. It was a great start to the season against most of the top runners in the state competing.
