Two wrestlers headed to state

Bronson Flynn won the heavyweight wrestling title in the Region 4 team tournament held in Watford City on Saturday. He and Rusty Etheridge will represent the New Town Eagles in the State Class B Wrestling Tournament in Fargo this weekend.

Flynn won both his matches by pinfall. He defeated Josh Erflie of New Salem Almont in 1:18 and beat Steven Harrison of Standing Rock in 1:25 in the championship match.

Despite losing both of his matches, Etheridge took fourth place in the 195 pound division tournament and will be headed for the state tournament. He was pinned in 11 seconds by Alex Barbion of Beulah-Hazen and lost to Beau Jeffers of Bowman County-Beach in 45 seconds in the third place match.
